Engines & Turbines are widely used as Prime Movers.
The Pelton Wheel Turbine using kinetic energy of water is used widely where high head & ample water is available.

Net Head :- 45m Approx.
Discharge :- Approx. 820 LPH.
Normal Speed :- 750rpm.
Power :- 3.75kw ( 5HP )
Runner Diameter :- 250 mm.
Number Of Buckets :- 18
Brake Drum Diameter :- 450mm.

b) Centrifugal Pump set suitable for supply of water of size

lpm at 48 M coupled to 15 HP induction motor 3 phase
400/400 V.A.C. supply.

c) Flowing Measuring Unit : a 65 mm ventury meter of Gunmetel
with two
pressure gauges on a Panel board to measure the differences
of pressure.

d) Starterv switch, piping, foot valve, gate valve.

ERIMENTATION
1) Demonstrating the operating characteristics i.e. power efficiency and torque of a Pelton Wheel at various speeds.

2) Determining the performance characteristics and effect of discharge and velocity of impinging water on Turbine operation.
